Services for Visitors with Disabilities

Mobility Impairments

The Reichstag Building is fully accessible for wheelchair users. Ramps provide access to the entrance, and lifts are available to all levels, including the roof terrace and dome. Accessible toilets are located on each level. A limited number of wheelchairs are available to borrow on-site.

Visual Impairments

For blind and visually impaired visitors, assistance includes Braille labels and audio notifications in lifts. Tactile models of the Reichstag Building and the parliamentary district are available. Special guided tours and an audio-described version of the dome audio guide can also be arranged.

Hearing Impairments

Induction loops are available in the visitors' galleries for plenary debates and lectures. For groups of ten or more, sign language interpreters can be requested in advance. A video guide in German sign language is available for the dome visit.

Step-Free Access

All visitor areas, including the dome, are accessible via ramps and elevators. The spiral path in the dome is steep, so assistance may be helpful for manual wheelchair users.

Wheelchair Loans

A limited number of wheelchairs can be borrowed free of charge. It is recommended to request one when you register for your visit.

Tactile Models

Tactile models of the building and plenary chamber allow visually impaired guests to explore the architecture through touch.

Assistance Dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome inside the Reichstag Building. Please inform the Visitors' Service when you register your visit.
